Sometimes assisting during and after a disaster means supporting the people directly impacted and those who have stepped up to help them. Employees at the Lowe’s store in Port Arthur, Texas, have forged a strong bond with a National Guard unit as both groups work to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey in the surrounding areas. The store delivered pallets to the guard post for donation collections and even opened its doors when more than 90 National Guard and Emergency Medical responders needed a place to rest after hours of hurricane recovery work.
“It’s been amazing to see the partnership,” said Store Manager Ross Icet.
