Each year, the U.S. experiences thousands of disasters that impact communities big and small. This past week, severe storms devastated communities stretching from California to Florida. In times of disaster, the American Red Cross is there to provide services and relief so people have a place to stay and food to eat while they focus on their recovery.
In 2016, the Red Cross responded to 180 significant disasters in 45 states and two U.S. territories, including deadly wildfires in Tennessee, historic flooding in Louisiana and West Virginia, and one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes in recent history.
To aid disaster relief efforts across the country, Lowe’s and its customers contributed more than $1.3 million to the Red Cross, helping volunteers provide food, shelter and comfort to those in need.
Lowe’s thanks all of the customers who supported Red Cross Disaster Relief after some of 2016’s most devastating disasters by donating online and at Lowe’s stores in impacted communities. Your incredible support helped people affected by hurricanes, floods, fires – and countless other crises – begin their road to recovery.
