“Phill is our superhero.”
That’s what Mary Ann Smith, a loss prevention and operations support manager at Lowe’s 1570 in Houston, Texas, said about Phill Escobar. When the store flooded due to Hurricane Harvey, Escobar – who is a Lowe’s market service manager – was “the first man on the ground,” assessing the damage and determining first steps for recovery. He also was looking out for community members in need. From driving around town to find formula for a friend’s baby to donating bottled water to a local shelter, Escabar became a hero to those around him. And although he doesn’t think what he did was anything “out of the normal,” his coworkers feel differently.
“His leadership for his team and for us has been phenomenal,” said Smith.
