Visualization is essential to planning and completing a home project. Being able to “see” a product before purchase provides customers a sense of confidence that transforms the buying experience. To relieve stress, Lowe’s is beefing up its augmented reality experiences for customers. In addition to outdoor patio furniture, grills and smokers, Lowe’s has added the Craftsman collection and 500 other items to its roster of augmented reality-equipped products within its consumer app.
Android users with ARCore-enabled devices can use the “View in Your Space” feature within the Lowe’s consumer app to visualize how products will look in their home. Developed by Lowe’s Innovation Labs, customers can place lifelike, size-accurate items into their real-life spaces to confidently determine if that product will fit into the space and blend with its surroundings.
The functionality is easy to use – the consumer can quickly scan their surroundings and drag and drop the item into their desired spot. As the consumer moves their mobile device, the product will remain scaled-to-size, making it easy to see if the product dimensions will fit in the desired space. Then, with one touch, consumers can add the product to their cart.
Craftsman Tools hit stores nationwide earlier this year and Lowe’s became the new go-to destination for the iconic brand and some of the highest quality tools, storage and outdoor power equipment in the industry. By integrating Craftsman products with View in Your Space, Lowe’s is taking the brand’s product innovation to the next level and breaking through barriers, giving customers the confidence to make informed purchase decisions.
